Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday expressed his condolences over the loss of lives in a recent mishap in Bilaspur, Himachal Pradesh.
In a statement shared on X, PM Modi said, “Saddened by the loss of lives due to a mishap in Bilaspur, Himachal Pradesh. My thoughts are with the affected people and their families during this difficult time. Praying for the speedy recovery of the injured.”

At least 15 people were reportedly killed after a bus was buried under the debris of a massive landslide triggered in Bilaspur district late in the evening.
The bus, carrying around 30 passengers, was traveling from Haryana’s Rohtak to Ghumarwin, near Bilaspur, when it met with an accident in Bhelughat area of the Jhandutta assembly segment.
The exact cause of the incident is still under investigation, and authorities are working to assess the full extent of the damage.
The Prime Minister announced an ex-gratia of Rs 2 lakh from the Prime Minister’s National Relief Fund (PMNRF) to the next of kin of each deceased. Additionally, the injured would receive Rs. 50,000 each.
“An ex-gratia of Rs. 2 lakh from PMNRF will be given to the next of kin of each deceased. The injured will be given Rs. 50,000,” the PM stated.
The local administration is actively providing assistance to those affected by the mishap. The government has taken cognizance of the situation and is closely monitoring the relief efforts.
